1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PrepPals ("the app," "the platform," "we," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use PrepPals.

2. Eligibility

You must be between 13 and 18 years old to use PrepPals. By creating an account, you confirm that:

• You are at least 13 years old
• You are currently enrolled in or preparing for high school
• If you are under 18, you have parental or guardian consent to use the platform

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that we determine belong to users outside this age range.

3. Account Responsibilities

When you create a PrepPals account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information, including your name and SAT scores
• Keep your password confidential and not share your account with others
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Acceptable Use

PrepPals is a platform for SAT study partner matching. You agree to use it only for this purpose and in a respectful manner. You must not:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Share inappropriate, offensive, or sexually explicit content
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or SAT scores
• Use the platform for any commercial purpose or solicitation
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without permission
• Upload fake or altered SAT score reports
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law

5. Content You Share

You retain ownership of the content you share on PrepPals (such as your bio and chat messages). By sharing content, you grant PrepPals a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and display it as necessary to operate the platform.

You are solely responsible for the content you share. Do not share personal information such as your home address, phone number, or school location with other users.

6. SAT Score Verification

PrepPals offers optional SAT score verification by uploading an official College Board score report. By uploading a document, you confirm it is authentic and unaltered. Uploading a falsified document is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.

7. Matching and Communication

PrepPals connects users for educational purposes only. Matches are based on SAT goals and score ranges. We are not responsible for the conduct of users after matching. Use good judgment when communicating with matches, and report any inappropriate behavior using the in-app report feature or by emailing [email protected].

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through the app (Profile → Delete My Account). Upon deletion, your data will be removed within 30 days.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

PrepPals is provided "as is" without any warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that matches will result in improved SAT scores. Use the platform at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PrepPals and its founders shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (which for most users is $0, as the app is free).

11. Privacy

Your use of PrepPals is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Continued use of PrepPals after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, binding arbitration.
